One of a kind.
The eight quilts in this Traditional Collection, Bear Claw, Blue Triangles, Bow-dacious, Floral Scallops, Green Leaf Garland, Green Prairie Points, and Yellow-Edged Birthday Cake were made during the early 1990’s. My life had taken another one of its many turns and detours, and I found myself in a place where I could renew my love of needle arts and textiles. The creative spark within me had not been extinguished; it had just had to smolder for a few decades as things sorted themselves out.
These quilts are reproductions of traditional quilting patterns where sharp corners and matching lines were the measure of quality. I followed the patterns carefully and love these quilts, many of which I shared with my daughter. They are large and closely quilted, made with soft cottons and Warm and Natural batting.
Once I had found my “footing” so to speak, I began to branch out into textiles from Africa which led me to another, and lasting, phase of my quilting life: Art As Meditation, allowing the fabrics and my spirit to guide the patterns and placement of fabrics, never minding the exactness of corners and squares.
These traditional quilts, however, much loved would welcome the opportunity to be taken out of the closet and brought to new homes. Thus, they are for sale.
